Dive Brief:
- Ahold Delhaize USA has partnered with Inmar Intelligence to offer digital coupons and deals to online customers, according to a Thursday press release. The grocer’s five banners are all live on the Inmar platform.
- Inmar replaces Nepture Retail Solutions, formerly known as Quotient, as ADUSA’s digital coupon provider.
- The tie-up comes at a time when grocers are looking to ramp up savings for people shopping online as they continue to emphasize value to price-sensitive consumers.
Dive Insight:
Inmar’s platform gives the Ahold Delhaize banners access to more offers, new types of deals and the ability to push more relevant savings opportunities to online customers, the announcement noted.
“Advancing our capabilities in the loyalty space, and particularly with digital coupons, is key as we continue to increase overall digital customer engagement and deliver omnichannel growth,” Ahold Delhaize USA Chief Digital Officer Keith Nicks said in a statement.
Since partnering with Inmar, Ahold Delhaize USA has presented over $141 million in savings to its shoppers, according to Rob Weisberg, Inmar’s president and executive vice president of MarTech solutions.
The transition to Inmar effectively ends Ahold Delhaize’s work with Neptune Retail Solutions, which included launching a promotion amplification tool to make temporary price reductions more visible to shoppers in 2021.
Consumers continue to seek out grocers who put value first, leading to an industry-wide effort from grocers to make promotions more visible.
Earlier this week, DoorDash entered a multi-year partnership with Ibotta enabling the e-commerce provider to offer a catalog of digital promotions and coupons to its users for everyday items across categories like grocery, health and beauty, home improvement and alcohol.
