Dive Insight:
Bringing Sadrzadeh on as its new vice president of strategy and operations will continue DoorDash’s efforts to expand in the e-commerce market.
Sadrzadeh spent nearly two years at Flexport, a supply chain management company, as its executive vice president of SMB and omnichannel fulfillment, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Prior to that, Sadrzadeh worked at Amazon for nearly 12 years in numerous leadership roles, primarily for Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner program, which is designed to help businesses launch and operate their own delivery businesses.
In her new role at DoorDash, Sadrzadeh will report directly to the company’s president and chief operating officer Prabir Adarkar, The Information reported.
“[Sadrzadeh’s] customer-first ethos, strong product orientation, and experience with high-growth initiatives make her an ideal fit,” Adarkar said in an emailed statement.
Along with expanding in the grocery delivery space, DoorDash has also made efforts to extend delivery services across other sectors of retail. Over the past few years, the company has entered into delivery tie-ups with retailers such as Staples, Lowe’s and Academy Sports and Outdoors.
