Kroger announced Tuesday that Kate Mora will step into the role of Mid-Atlantic division president.
Mora has been with Kroger since 2022, most recently serving as the Michigan division’s vice president of merchandising, according to an emailed press release. Mora first joined Kroger as its vice president on special assignment supporting its End-to-End Fresh initiative.
“With more than 25 years of retail management and leadership experience, she is a proven leader and strategic thinker, with a history of operational excellence,” Valerie Jabbar, senior vice president of Kroger’s retail divisions, said in a statement.
Prior to joining Kroger, Mora held numerous leadership positions at Walmart, including regional general manager and vice president, overseeing a multi-state region, the announcement noted. In addition to retail management, Mora has also held roles at Walmart that focused on talent development and omnichannel customer experience.
Mora will take over the role from Lori Raya who is retiring from Kroger after more than three years as Mid-Atlantic president.
