The Raley’s Companies has promoted Chelsea Minor to vice president of community impact and public affairs, the grocery chain announced in a press release Monday.
In her new role, Minor will oversee Raley’s public relations, governmental affairs, communications, community impact and sustainability as well as lead strategy and direction for the grocer, per the press release. Her role expands to all banners and locations, which include Raley’s and Bashas’ stores in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and four tribal nations.
Minor will also help direct the company’s charitable foundation, Raley’s Food for Families.
Minor has been working for Raley’s since 2015, when she joined the grocery company as director of public relations and public affairs, according to her LinkedIn profile. She became corporate director of consumer and public relations in 2018 before rising to corporate director of public affairs in 2020. Minor’s most recent position, which she held for 11 months, was executive director of community impact and public affairs.
Raley’s announcement notes that Minor was “instrumental” to the company’s growth through several acquisitions and serves as one of its “Shared Service leaders, developing and executing the company’s consumer, public affairs and brand reputation strategies for the enterprise.”
Prior to joining The Raley’s Companies, Minor worked in KP Public Affairs’ public relations division for five years, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Minor is currently chair of the California Retailers Association and the Metro Chamber Political Action Committee, as well as a public appointee for the California Cattle Council, according to the announcement.
Minor’s promotion announcement comes just a few months after The Raley’s Companies named Steve Mayer as the new president of Bashas’ Operating Companies.
