Papila Collection, the innovative gourmet food company, has launched a new product, exclusively available this summer, at all 598 Sam's Clubs in the United States. The L'Original Macaron Ice Cream was successfully launched with Waitrose & Partners in the UK in 2022.
And now, Papila Collection brings this exceptional product to the United States.

One product one challenge

L'Original Macaron Ice Cream is a result of a collaboration between a French award-winning pastry chef and Papila Collection's innovative take on a gourmet product. The product combines a perfectly crunchy macaron with premium ice cream to create a unique and delectable frozen treat.

"The mission to create a perfectly crunchy Ice Cream Macaron was challenging,” says Eric Viviant, co-founder and CEO. The macaron shell was reinvented to control the transfer of humidity from the ice cream. The solution is an ingenious use of not only the finest ingredients, but including almond powder, egg whites and minimal sugar. What is unique is the absence of coating on the macaron with chocolate to act as a barrier to the ice cream or using added starches and higher quantities of sugar.

The result is stunning: Macaron shell made with very simple ingredients that boast a perfectly soft interior and an irresistibly crunchy exterior even when sandwiched between ultra-premium ice cream. This is why we call it the “L’Original”.”

L'Original Macaron Ice Cream is available in three delicious flavors, Vanilla, Raspberry and Lychee and Chocolate:

The Vanilla Macaron Ice Cream is made with the finest vanilla beans sourced from Madagascar, Mexico and Tahiti, and is perfect for those looking for a classic and refined taste.
The Raspberry and Lychee Ice Cream combines juicy raspberries and fragrant lychees with their signature Raspberry Macaron, creating a fruity and refreshing treat.
The Chocolate Ice Cream, crafted with the finest 80% cocoa gourmet chocolate, is perfectly balanced with a delicate sweetness from the Chocolate Macaron.

New flavors coming soon

L’Original Macaron Ice Cream arrived in stores in early May and is already receiving rave reviews from Sam’s Club members. In-store feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the social media response has been amazing. Papila Collection is always looking for new ways to delight its customers with unique and exciting products and offers a sophisticated tasting experience. New flavors are expected to be in-store by Q1, 2024.

Supporting the US market growth

The company is currently negotiating with retailers for 2024, with plans to expand throughout North America.

“In response to the high demand for L’Original Macaron Ice Cream in the US, we will launch a new production line in North America by Q4, 2023,” says Eric Viviant.
